"Articles, News & Announcements" versus "News & Announcements from the Community" Posted by fallschurchwebmaster (2008/3/28)

Understanding the difference between our "Articles, News & Announcements" feature and "News & Announcements from the Community."
"News & Announcements from the Community" is intended to be an organized community "blog" which enables all registered users to submit and self approve for posting news and announcements on a variety of topics relevant to daily life in our local region. That feature is unmoderated, thus registered users have the flexible ability to post news and announcements relative to the topic. Submissions to that category will be "pruned" after a reasonable period of time. We will, upon request, create a new topic category or subcategory for use by any regional neighborhood or community based organization so that members of that group may readily find and post news of their organization or neighborhood.

The "Articles, News & Announcements" feature is a more moderated news area, where all articles are approved by the website moderator or a vetted contributing writer. We welcome providing serious writers the opportunity to publish articles and stories of the history and heritage of the local region. We also are open to local writers who wish to write regular columns on a variety of topics (we are open to suggestions) relevant to local readers.

City of Falls Church Hosts Concerts in the Park
Thursdays, June 25-Aug. 6

Enjoy the best of summer at the 17th Annual Falls Church Concerts in the
Park series every Thursday at 7 p.m., June 25- Aug. 6. Bring a blanket
and a picnic and enjoy performances by local musicians. Each concert
also features local artists and their artwork. All concerts are free to
the public and are held at Cherry Hill Park (312 Park Ave.). In the
event of rain, concerts will be held in the Falls Church Community
Center located next to the park at 223 Little Falls St. For more

If your organization, business, sports team, neighborhood, home owners association or other group desires to make regular use of this website feature, please contact us and request that we establish a seperate subcategory under the appropriate category - this will aid visitors and your members to locate the latest news and announcements of your group.
